<h2>Office &amp; Finance Administrator - April 2012</h2>
<p>Highlander I.T. &amp; Telecoms are looking for an Office &amp; Finance Administrator to cover a 10 month maternity contract beginning 21<sup>st</sup> May which may lead to a permanent role.</p>

<p><strong>Role:&nbsp;</strong>Warehouse operative / Workshop Technician will work as part of a team that offers stock control, PC / Server Build, fault diagnosis &amp; Repair. The role includes taking calls from and passing information to customers and account managers and suppliers.</p>

		<title><![CDATA[Spyware/Malware Removal]]></title>

			<p><strong>Call logged:</strong>&nbsp; The user explained that they are suffering a constant delay in regards to loading applications; their system crashing from time to time and unexpected shutdowns.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>IT Support Helpdesk recommends:</strong></p>
<p>One common problem that you may find that causes such inconveniences to your system is due to a Spyware issue.&nbsp; This is usually caused from clicking on a website that is not reputable and &lsquo;tricks&rsquo; you into buying a software or removal tools which will fix the problem.&nbsp; Please note that you should always be careful when websites re-direct you to another link.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Resolving the problem:</strong></p>
<p>From our experienced Helpdesk Support Agent, the issue was quickly resolved. We identified the problem from the log reports that the PC had several unexpected restarts and application crashes. Our Agent logged in remotely to our end user&rsquo;s PC and explained step by step how to run some diagnostics software&nbsp;which is a great tool for removing any Malware. The PC was scanned and all Malware was removed within an hour with all significant threats removed.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Malware differs from a virus in the sense that Malware usually display pops up on screen in order to scare users into buying software or removal tools.&nbsp; All issues were efficiently resolved and all internet issues were also eliminated.</p>

<p><strong>Tips: </strong></p>
<p>Check the source from the website is reputable.</p>
<p>Don&rsquo;t blindly click on pop ups on screen, understand what it is asking you to do.</p>

		<title><![CDATA[Microsoft Platform Upgrade Campaign]]></title>

			<p>On the 1st July 2012, Microsoft&#39;s Open Licensing Programme and Open Value Subscription (rental) Programmes will see significant increases in license pricing. Our understanding is that, between 20% &amp; 25% increases, across the board, is likely.</p>
<p>In order to raise awareness of this and to provide a plan of how to reduce the impact of these changes for businesses, we have engaged with Microsoft on an exclusive offer of discounted infrastructure licenses up until 30th June 2012.</p>

<p>Following an internal re-structure the our group of Companies, we decided to outsource user and network support services. 	<p>In February this year we contacted Highlander to discuss a large ICT suite that we were to install in a soon to be renovated building. We received a prompt visit, which soon followed with a second meeting outlining their proposals and their reasons for these.</p>
	<p>As relative novices in full networking solutions we wanted Highlander to provide us with a complete solution. As often the case with grant funded projects there was plenty of red tape to cut through. Highlander persevered with us during this time and even though it took over 6 months from quote stage to installation they stuck with us and gave advice throughout the whole event - they even notified us that prices had been reduced and we could have more kit!</p>
	<p>Once we decided to place the order Highlander organised and completed the network cabling, the benching and furniture, and the installation of the full IT suite with interactive whiteboard. The technicians have been extremely helpful and have done everything possible to make the project run as smooth as it has done.</p>

<p>We signed an IT and Telecomms maintenance contract with Highlander &nbsp;two years ago when we knew little about the quality of their support but knew that they were price competitive.&nbsp; Since then we have had excellent support from our account manager, the helpdesk and site engineers.&nbsp; Responses to our requests for assistance have been prompt and problem resolution has been speedy.</p>
<p>The Highlander staff are knowledgeable, friendly and efficient.&nbsp; Their suggestions and recommendations are insightful and appropriate. In 2011 we realised that our main server was coming to the end of its life and we needed to swap it out and also upgrade our back-up systems.&nbsp; Highlander&nbsp; recommended the replacement equipment and systems and prepared a project plan, working closely with external software suppliers and our IT team.&nbsp;</p>
<p>The plan was clear and our account manager and the engineers took time explain it to us and address our concerns.&nbsp; The pre-project preparation was meticulous and on-time. <p>The Highlander &nbsp;IT Support Contract is an agreement between Highlander Business Solutions and your company guaranteeing you <strong>comprehensive</strong> support for <strong>every aspect</strong> of your IT &amp; Telecoms infrastructure.</p>
<p>This infrastructure may include PC systems, software, one or more file servers, peripherals such as scanners, printers, and laptops or more specialist equipment such as uninterruptible power supplies or video conferencing equipment.</p>

<h2 id="four">How much will a Highlander Premium Support Contract cost?</h2>
<p>Each Premium Support Contract is different and depends on the age, nature and specification of your own IT &amp; Telecoms infrastructure.</p>
<p>In order to provide you with an accurate quotation, one of our technicians will conduct a <strong>full inventory of your hardware and software</strong> so that we can estimate the level of support required.</p>

<h2 id="five">How long does the contract last?</h2>
<p>The Highlander Premium Support Contract has no minimum or maximum term and you are free to cancel or suspend the contract at any time and for any reason without penalty.</p>
<p>The contract premium is quoted on an <strong>annual basis</strong> so that you can compare our charges with other providers.</p>
<p>We are committed to providing the <strong>highest quality products</strong>, <strong>services</strong> and <strong>support</strong> to all our clients and such do not believe in imposing minimum contract terms or cancellation periods/penalty payments.</p>

<h2 id="six">How do I pay for the Premium Support Contract?</h2>
<p>The contract premium is payable quarterly in advance. We prefer our clients to set up a regular standing order for payment of the premium to reduce our administration, but payment upon invoice can be accepted subject to our agreement.</p>
<p>If you need to cancel the contract for any reason, the unused proportion of the prepaid quarterly amount will be refunded upon our receipt of your cancellation instruction.</p>

<p>In a nutshell, the Digital Region Broadband initiative for South Yorkshire provides a backbone for high speed internet connectivity. This backbone is the vehicle in which Internet Service Providers (ISPs) connect.</p>
